Both games went without a hitch. A few sprinkles of rain fell during the games but nothing major.
The team that played after Emily's game was short a player so guess who got to fill in??? You got it, Miss Emily! Once gain, Emily wasn't thrilled but stepped up to the plate (no pun intended).
Half way through the game, the rain started coming down and the wind picked up. The poor little girls were out on the field while getting pelted with rain drops. The rain drops hurt when it hit your skin.
I ran Megan to the van but couldn't sit with her. The mommy guilt kicked in. I couldn't stay in a warm dry van with one child while my other one, who was playing against her will, was getting pummeled by rain drops.
By the time I got back to the field, the game had been called. I packed up Emily's bat bag while she ran to the van!
Once home, we all took off our wet clothes, Emily took a hot shower and as a reward for helping out another team, she is now at a sleepover with a friend!
You can't tell by this picture but the ran was really coming down. Emily is the one in teal.
Do they call them when it rains? Or was there lightning? Do they make them up? And what's with people always not having enough players? Tell Emily to hide in the car!
ReplyDeleteHope you get a sunny day tomorrow!
The games normally aren't called unless there is lighting. In yesterday's case, all the games were delayed due to rain in the morning. Since this was the last game of the day and the weather front was pretty big, they decided to call it.
ReplyDeleteThe games are not usually made up. If that was the case, we would have games until July!
The team without enough players is my FB buddies team!! I think he only has enough players to make the team so if one doesn't show, he is doomed.
