Debute

Emily made her pitching debut in her softball game today! Her coaches told us at the beginning of the season they would let Em pitch whenever the game was a blow out, either way. Well, today was a blow out not in our favor!

The coach called Ron over and I started freaking out not knowing what they were talking about. I then saw Ron going to the dugout to get his glove then motion Emily over to practice.

I could have started crying right then and there. My emotions were going wild. Excited she was getting a chance to pitch, scared she would walk every batter. And the worst feeling of all, disappointment. It was the one game I did NOT have my camera.

For those of you who know me, it is rare to catch me without my camera. I was kicking myself. One of the other mom's had her camera but the batteries were dead. :(

Back to the pitching...

Emily's first pitch was a strike. I don't remember the order of the rest of the pitches. All I know is Emily struck out the side and she rung up the last batter (words of Ron)!

Ron was able to get the game ball from the ump so we can buy a case and put it on her shelf!

Emily is still beaming and so are her parents!!!

  1. Super cool! Maybe now they will put her in even when the score isn't such a blow out...sounds like she should be in rotation!
