Swimming

After Emily's basketball practice, I took the girls swimming. Here are a few pictures of our day!

The pictures coming down the slide didn't turn out very well but this gives you an idea what the slide is like!

Daisy and Max

I gave Daisy a peice of celery and Max wasn't too happy he didn't get anything.

Daisy ended up eating it before Max could steal it!

Another post about Max

Sorry about all the animal posts tonight.

Emily sat on the chair today for two seconds and Max made himself at home on her head.

Megan had to get in on the action

Christmas in Chillicothe

Today we had our final Christmas celebration for 2008.

Grandpa Ron made the girls banks of their favorite animals out of wood:

Emily's is an elephant

Christmas Morning

The girls must have been very good this year. Santa brought them almost everything they wanted! Good thing he planned ahead this year.

This is the first year Megan was truly excited. She ripped the presents open faster than anyone I know. She had to stop a few times so Emily could catch up with her. Every picture we have of her she has "crazy eyes".

Emily was once again obsessed with the Santa tracker on the computer. She started checking it Christmas Eve as soon as she woke up. She was constantly wanting to get on the computer so she could check it. This year was no different in worrying we would not be home in time to fall asleep before Santa came.

After we opened Santa gifts, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Allen's house and celebrated Christmas with them and Auntie Steph, Uncle Bryan, and Griffin. We all got lots of good stuff and had a great time.

Megan got the "cool" race track she wanted. Notice the crazy eyes!

Emily got a cool 3-D planet book
The infamous gumball machine! You can get gum for pennies or for free if you are on Megan's good list!

Emily got Mia the American Girl Doll she had been wanting all year.

Notes to Santa

Before bed on Christmas Eve, the girls wrote notes to Santa on the dry erase boards on their bedroom doors. Santa wrote back when he came to visit. His writing is the neat writing!

Christmas Eve

Grandma Rosie made jumpers for the girls to wear to church and Grandma and Grandpa Allen's house on Christmas Eve. It is tradition to go to 4:00 mass and then celebrate Christmas with the Chittum side of the family.

Max

Max was asleep on the chair today. Notice his paws over his face.

Baby it's cold outside...

You can tell the temperature outside by finding the animals in the house!

Sallie and Max cuddle with Emily

Daisy and Megan stay warm on the couch!

All Megan wants for Christmas...

Megan said she would be very happy if Santa only brought her two things.

1. A soda machine for her room. She promises she would only have soda with no caffiene in it!
2. ALL these bubble gum machines!!!

Skating Party

Emily was invited to a friends birthday party at the local skating rink this past Saturday. Megan wanted to stay and skate so she and I put on some skates and mostly skated around the practice rink but made it on the big rink a few times! I decided skating is not like riding a bike, you DO forget how to do it!

Emily was getting the hang of skating without holding on. A few more hours and she would have had it!

Megan got brave and skated down the middle of the practice rink!

The picture is dark but here are the girls goofing off!

School Christmas Parties

The girls had their school Christmas parties on the 19th.

Emily's class had just finished reading How to Eat Fried Worms and watched the movie as a reward. The class also had a "Worm" party. They drank apple juice w/gummy worms, ate dirt pudding with gummy worms and had hot dogs cut up like worms. With the hotdogs they had lemon juice, horseradish, ketchup, mustard, and cheese just like the movie!!!

Megan's class had a party with the Star theme since the 1st graders are our little stars. They decorated rice krispie treats shaped like stars, made star ornaments, and filled their goodie bags with all kinds of goodies!

Breakfast with Santa

We had breakfast with Santa on December 13. Megan was a little unsure about the big guy but sat on his lap "only if Emily does".

Baba visits Ohio

My 94-year old Grandmother (my dad's mother) who lives in NJ came to Ohio to stay with my parents for about a month in October. The girls call my grandma "Baba" which is polish for Grandma. It was wonderful to see Grandma and spend time with her. She enjoyed visiting with the girls while she was here.

Am I up for this?

Ron has been after me for years to do a blog on the girls. I have several friends who have blogs for their families or special talent and they assure me it is easy.

I am not sure how good it will be or if I am up to the challenge but this will at least be an attempt.

I hope you enjoy a look into the every day life of the girls!
