Greenville

Megan played her last games in 8U this past weekend in another tournament in Greenville, Ohio.

Another HOT and HUMID weekend but never the less lots of fun watching our girls play!

Three games were played on Saturday.  The girls were all so hot and tired by the end of the third game.

Megan's awesome first base skills were recognized by the coach from the other team because she was given an MVP ribbon by him!

At the end of the third game, we were one run away from run-ruling the other team.  Megan was on base with a girl on third.  Megan hit the ball and it somehow started to roll back over the base line.  She saw the ball as she was running and jumped over the ball to avoid being out.  Well, her ankle and knee didn't agree with that jump and she went straight down to the ground and rolled.  I heard the crying and I took off out of my chair like a bat out of hell and ran over to the dugout ready to get on the field if needed.

All the coaches and the ump rushed over to Megan so I couldn't see her.  I saw one of our coaches look over to where I WAS sitting so I didn't know if that was a good thing or not.

Megan got up and finished batting like a champ.  The first ball she hit made a b-line right to her coach.  Had he not been in the way it would have flown to the outfield.  Since it hit the coach it was considered a dead ball so she had to hit again.  She hit it and didn't have to run because the girl on third scored and game over!

Girls were Number 1 seed in the tournament so it was a ticket straight to the semi-finals.  They breezed past the team they played to get them in the finals against their nemesis Tipp City!

Tipp came out fighting and were very close to run-ruling us but the game was delayed thanks to bad weather.  We had to go back to Greenville (~45 minute drive) Monday at 7:00 to finish the game.  Again, Tipp came out fighting and run-ruled us in the first 10 minutes.

The girls were all upset they didn't win but were excited they brought home more hardware!!!  Three tournaments, Three trophies, not too bad for these little girls!!!

  1. You could be a color commentator! You certainly let us all in on the action with that play-by-play! Congrats again to Miss Megan.
