For Emily and Ron the day started at Helke School making blankets for the homeless. Helke 3rd and 4th grade students, parent volunteers, various teachers, and the VB high school Softball team met in the gym. Together they made 175 fleece blankets for the homeless.
Megan and I started our day at church making a banner for her First Reconciliation (confession). The theme this year is Zacchaeus. We watched a movie explaining confession to the 2nd graders and how this prepares them to make their 1st Holy Communion in May!
Fun weekend!! I love the banner Megan! Noah's aunt made him a football fleece blanket and he loves it. Did you get someone to donate the material or who pays for that? Just thinking it might be something we could do here.
ReplyDeleteI was just going tp harass you about not posting for 3 weeks. You beat me to the punch!
Have a great week, my friend.
The school sells snacks every day for a few weeks for $1. The blankets are only 1 layer of fleece, not the typical two. It's very cool to see!
ReplyDeleteI havent posted because my picassa album was completely full. I had to figure out what to do with it. :/
