Megan had to make a Leprechaun Trap for a class project at school. For those of you who know me well, you know we took this assignment seriously.
Megan and I spent countless hours on the Internet doing searches for traps. We bookmarked her favorites and talked daily about our ideas.
We narrowed down her favorites and decided which element of each trap would work best. This is what we came up with along with a picture of each step....

Making the ladder for the trap out of K'nex
The supplies!
All the "pretties" that will attract our leprechaun!
Putting gold shoes in the trap. Everyone knows leprechauns are known cobblers.
The gold shoes
Decorating the trap with glitter glue The finished product. At the top is the pipe cleaner rainbow.
The green ladder going to the top of the "trap"
The theory is the leprechaun will be attracted to the trap because of all the shiny pretties. He will ignore all the signs warning him not to climb the ladder and to be careful.
The leprechaun will climb the ladder and see the gold shoes. He will have to reach to get the shoes and fall into the funnel and be stuck inside the bottle!
You have created such memories for your kids! Countless hours of school crafts....they will never forget these times! Oh, and if you catch the little green guy, don't forget about your MN friend!
ReplyDeleteI guess the leprechauns come out at night so we won't know if we caught one until tomorrow! :/ Don't worry, I will remember all my friends if we find the pot of gold. Vacation is on me!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! VERY impressive trap. I am not surprised he got stuck in it!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of concentration as she's putting on the glitter glue.
